Eastern flank of MAA Flyover to close from tonight for repair work, alternate routes announced

Kolkata Police has issued a notification regarding traffic diversions on the MAA Flyover to facilitate the repair work on the eastern flank of the flyover. The repairs, undertaken by the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority, will occur every night between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM until the completion of the project.

The notification, signed by Manoj Kumar Verma, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, highlights the necessity of the repairs in the interest of public safety and convenience. To manage the traffic flow during the closure of the MAA Flyover at night, vehicles will be diverted as follows:

• Eastbound Traffic Diversion: Vehicles availing the AJC Bose Flyover and MAA Flyover for their eastward journey will be rerouted via 7 Point Crossing, Surawardi Avenue, Darga Road, No. 4 Bridge, PC Connector, and then to the EM Bypass.

The notification emphasizes that the diversion plan is effective immediately and will continue until the repair work is completed.

The police have urged commuters to cooperate and plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience. Citizens are advised to follow the updated routes and keep an eye out for further updates from the Kolkata Traffic Police.
